Floral design is the combination of different textures and elements, highlighted with vibrant blooms, to create a unique work. I approach floral design with an eye for each side of the piece and am inspired to incorporate wild, healthful plants to contrast with the lush blooms. Seasonal and locally grown plants are a key interest to me as they provide a link to nature in addition to their beauty. In my training and work, I tend towards fullness and bursting design because floral design is a celebration of plants as much as the occasion they represent.
